Successful 2020 Tomato Harvest on AGinvest Farms

Phil SzucsFarmland

Harvest is in full swing in this video, showing tomatoes being harvested at an optimized AGinvest farm property. Did you know that Chatham-Kent and southwestern Ontario are the tomato capitals of Canada? Yields in fruit and vegetable production have improved to the point now where 100,000 to 120,000 pounds of tomatoes per acre is the expected yield for the farmer. This is a substantial improvement from decades past. Similar gains in productivity can be found in many other crops grown in the region as well. In addition to the gains in productivity, efficiencies in harvest and processing techniques have helped to create more profit for farm operators which in turn has been capitalized in the value of the land. We take all optimization projects at AGinvest farmland properties seriously, to ensure both benefit to the farmer, to the environment, and to our business.
