AGinvest is agricultural asset manager with a focus on optimization, protecting and building farmland asset value. For more than 15 years AGinvest’s principles have acquired, managed and optimized agricultural real estate assets in Ontario. Our goal is to achieve the ownership and investment objectives of our clients (institutional, corporate and individual).
Generating a 15.8% Internal Rate of Return over the past 15 years AGinvest is capable to outperform general farmland appreciation statistics. Our robust pipeline identifies significant value across the province of Ontario as possible farmland investment opportunities.
We collaborate with knowledgeable individuals on the ground who are engaged in the Ontario agricultural sector daily. AGinvest takes pride in working with investors, local farmers and end-users in most markets around the province. These key relationships give us the region-specific knowledge that ensures success in sourcing, acquiring and managing farmland assets.
AGinvest offers investors the opportunity to acquire and hold Canadian farmland. It also leases and oversees the farmland it acquires on behalf of investors. What is unique about AGinvest’s business model, however, is that the AGinvest team will strive to add incremental value by putting the farmland to its best and optimum use. In some cases, this could result in an upward revaluation of up to 15 percent in year one. The team at AGinvest is focused on acquiring the highest quality farmland in Canada. Classified as top quality farmland (Class 1 & 2) by Canada Land Inventory, and located within a geographic region with favourable climatic conditions (Zones 5 & 6) according to the Plant Hardiness scale, this land can be used to grow up to 200 different crops. In contrast, farmland located in most other regions in Canada, including in the Prairie Provinces, is typically capable of producing fewer than 30 crops.
